If a dog barks but no deputy is there to hear it ... in Little Canada

Arrests, Thefts and more around Falcon Heights, Lauderdale, Little Canada, and Roseville - Roseville Review police reports August 9, 2016.

Falcon Heights

Arrests

A 27-year-old man was arrested and cited for driving with a revoked license July 19 at the intersection of Snelling and Larpenteur avenues. On July 21, a 25-year-old man was stopped at the same intersection and also arrested and cited for driving with a revoked license; he was also cited for no proof of insurance.

Meth and fraud

Police stopped a suspicious car at Garden Avenue and Maple Knoll Drive July 23 — the driver was arrested, cited and released for having no insurance on the vehicle. The 25-year-old female passenger in the car earned a trip to the Ramsey County Jail on charges of fifth-degree possession — police said it was methamphetamine — and the women also had a ledger full of personal information and credit card info about various people. Police took the ledger to be cause for additional charges of felony financial transaction card fraud. The woman also had an outstanding Hennepin County warrant for theft.

Lauderdale

Arrest

The lone police report from Lauderdale for July 18-24 was a July 18 traffic stop at Como Avenue and Highway 280, during which a 45-year-old man was arrested and cited for driving with a revoked license.

Little Canada

Burglary

Someone jimmied the door to a storage unit off its hinges at apartments in the 2800 block of Rustic Place and made off with a 41-year-old man’s sneaker collection — 40 pairs in all, valued at roughly $6,400. Many of the shoes had never been worn and police have no suspects.

Fraud

A 46-year-old man reported fraudulent transactions on his bank account totaling $960.

A 35-year-old man was selling a bed on Craigslist and a “buyer” from Chicago said they were interested. Surpisingly, there was a catch: The Chicagoan said they would like to pay for the $500 bed with a $2,000 check. The remaining $1,500 would cover shipping; the leftover cash then would be sent back to Chicago. The 35-year-old went along with the “sale,” though he found that each time he tried to deposit the check — twice — it bounced. The man reported the situation to police Aug. 2 and was informed the whole deal was a popular scam. All would be settled, though the man is out $100 in bank fees for the bounced checks.

If a dog barks but no deputy is there to hear it ...

Issues with the incessant barking of a black and white dog continue in the first block of Rosewood Drive, though on Aug. 1 when someone called the police to complain, the deputies who arrived at the scene heard no barking.

More like Canadian Daze

Near the end of the first day of Canadian Days festivities in Spooner Park on July 29, police recieved reports of a 25-year-old man from Little Canada who’d become very intoxicated. The man was reportedly “playing pinball with people, bouncing around and knocking into them.” As police tried to locate the man, a woman approached them and told deputies the man had groped her breasts. As she pointed the man out to police, he was seen climbing onto the stage with the live music act; he got up and danced as the band tried to shoo him away. The man then jumped off the stage into the crowd, collapsing. The 25-year-old had hit someone as he went down — the bystander refused medical attention — and passed out. He was given oxygen and taken to Regions Hospital. Police mailed him a citation for misdemeanor disturbing the peace/disorderly conduct.

Theft

A 23-year-old woman told police she suspects her 23-year-old boyfriend stole her laptop and other items Aug. 1 from the 400 block of Labore Road.

Also on Aug. 1, a woman who lives in the 2800 block of Rustic Place told police she thinks her ex-boyfriend stole her keys — at the same time that day a bicycle was reported stolen from the apartment complex’s parking garage.

Theft from auto

Someone broke into a 27-year-old man’s car while it was parked in a bar parking lot in the 2500 block of Rice Street July 29. They smashed out a window and took two gym bags with athletic gear inside, along with another bag that contained various spare keys. Police took a look at security footage and have a possible suspect — a 31-year-old man from St. Paul.
