Broken phone

Police have forwarded the case to the city attorney for possible charges, meaning police deemed the incident a misdemeanor, at most.

Burglarus interruptus

A 46-year-old man’s roommate returned home to the house they share in the fist block of Demont Avenue early in the morning of Aug. 8 to find their garage door open and tools spread out on the garage floor — the two men went ahead and put the tools away before they locked up the garage, which had been burglarized. Police said the burglar likely set the tools out to pick them up later with a car.

Car theft

A 45-year-old man told police he parked his car at Saxon Lanes Aug. 5, and when he came back, it was gone. Come Aug. 9, St. Paul police found the car parked on Maynard Avenue, containing items that didn’t belong to its 45-year-old owner. They had it towed and returned to him.

Domestic assault

A 46-year-old man from Vadnais Heights was arrested Aug. 6 after he pushed his 66-year-old girlfriend to the ground, resulting in cuts on her legs. The man fled the scene of the assault, but a deputy, not responding to the call, arrested him nearby, recognizing the man because police had dealt with him before.
