$30,000 loss: Thieves take New Brighton church’s solar panels


More than a dozen solar panels were stolen from the roof of United Church of Christ in New Brighton sometime in early September. The church said the total loss was around $30,000. After a few days of congregants and staff at United Church of Christ in New Brighton finding metal and wiring laying around the church, they discovered Sept. 6 that more than a dozen solar panels had been taken from the church’s roof.
