Recently, Tartan High School celebrated an exciting event to recognize the achievements of longtime basketball coach Mark Klingsborn, who is better known to students as “Coach K.”

Hundreds of fans filled the stands at the Tartan boys basketball home opener. Coach K was honored for his induction into the Minnesota Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame. Former players, coaches and referees gathered for a photo with the coach before the tip-off. He also celebrated his 500th career win!


Local school takes a moment to remember its namesake, John Glenn

John Glenn Middle School was named after the first American to orbit Earth on Feb. 20, 1962. The former astronaut died last week.

John Glenn passed away Dec. 8 at the age of 95. He was the first American to orbit Earth and went on to have a long career as a U.S. senator from Ohio.

Carver Elementary School recognized twice for high achievements

This year, Carver Elementary School in Maplewood received two formal recognitions of excellence.

Nicholas Cambronne, a Maplewood resident and 2016 graduate of Tartan High School has earned the designation of Eagle Scout from the Northern Star Council of the Boy Scouts of America.

Congratulations graduates!
