Woman charged in crash that killed two teens in Arden Hills


Flowers gathered on a guardrail beside the scene of the Dec. 1 car accident in Arden Hills that killed two Mounds View High School students. A Maple Grove woman has been charged with two counts of criminal vehicular homicide in relation to the crash.

New Brighton seminary gets approval to rent out space for K-8 school


United Theological Seminary in New Brighton has received permission from the city to lease space out to be used as a K-8 school, though as of yet UTS does not have a tenant.

Seminary campuses are typically home to calm, studious adults working towards a master’s of divinity — many aiming to become church leaders.

Roseville writing group for women in prison leads to new book


Joan Moses compiled and edited stories written by the women she works with at Residential Re-Entry Center of Roseville and published them in a book called “Breaking the Cycle, Writings from Women in Prison.” Sitting at her dining room table in her New Brighton home, she reads an excerpt.

Every Wednesday evening, a group of women gather in Roseville to write. This is a different kind of writers’ group, though, one in which grammar, spelling, structure and even coherency aren’t the main focus.

Shoreview natives’ St. Paul brewery will be about the beer, and the space, too


Elliot Grosse, Karl Eicher and Dalton Buchta, who all grew up in the same Shoreview neighborhood, stand at the future bar in the future taproom of the brewery they’re opening in downtown St. Paul. Still undergoing renovations to create a “modern cafe” vibe, they say 12welve Eyes should be open by July.

Arden Hills sets sights on TCAAP for possible city hall shift


The current city hall facility in Arden Hills may not meet the city’s needs once the Rice Creek Commons development is complete. A task force has been created to assess whether or not a new city hall facility should be built on the new development.

Is the Arden Hills City Hall big enough? 

That’s one of several questions the Arden Hills City Council wants answered in regards to the long-awaited redevelopment of the Twin Cities Army Ammunition Plant site.
